Memorial Service Sends Out Love

Saturday February 5 Animal Education and Rescue conducted a service for the 17 dogs and four birds that died due to malnutrition, dehydration and neglect and Muddy paws Rescue in Deer Park.

Over 60 people attended the service.  Many came with their own dogs.  Three of the four surviving dogs attended as well.  There was not a dry eye during the service.

“We wanted to send love out to the animals that died, letting them know we are here for them and love them.  Each of our youth club kids symbolically adopted an animal so the animals know they were not alone here on Earth,” said AEAR founder Sandy Kamen Wisniewski.

"The service was beautiful and well organized.  There wasn't a dry eye in the place.  A very tough and pathetic situation, and seeing the survivors brought it home so much more,” said Mother Patrick, who conducted a prayer during the service.

"Special thanks goes out to Petco for hosting the event, our youth club for participating, as well as all the volunteers that helped before during and after the service.  Finally thank you to all those people who attended the service.  Our combined love surely sent the message to those animals that suffered that they are loved," said Sandy Wisniewski.
